Apple’s developer conference — iOS 27, macOS and the reworked Siri.
Apple's annual developer conference, WWDC 2026, held from June 8 to June 12 at Apple Park in Cupertino, remains one of the most significant events in the tech world. Traditionally focused on software updates, this event is vital for users in Georgia as it defines the development trajectory of the Apple ecosystem for the coming year. This year, the conference focused entirely on software innovations, with no new hardware announced.
The headline of the event was the AI-powered Siri, a rebuilt assistant that can converse, understand context on the screen, and remember previous interactions. Siri now operates on Apple's own models while integrating Google Gemini and features its own dedicated application. Additionally, the company officially announced the latest versions of its operating systems: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27.
Special attention was given to macOS 27, codenamed Golden Gate, which is the first in the company's history to drop support for Intel-based Macs entirely, marking a definitive shift toward Apple's proprietary silicon. Although no new hardware was shown, WWDC 2026 clearly demonstrated that the company is making the integration of artificial intelligence the core of its product ecosystem.
