Xbox Secures Exclusive Cloud Streaming Rights for GTA 6
Rockstar Games' upcoming title will be playable via the cloud exclusively on Xbox platforms at launch.

Microsoft’s gaming division has secured one of the industry's most significant deals. Xbox has obtained the exclusive rights for the cloud streaming of Grand Theft Auto VI.
During an internal meeting with staff, Xbox executive Asha Sharma stated that the company is planning a move regarding GTA 6 that no other platform will be able to offer players. Informed sources confirm that this refers to an exclusive contract for the game's streaming rights.
What this means for gamers
Under the terms of the agreement, streaming GTA 6 will be exclusively available through the Xbox Cloud Gaming service during the game's initial release phase. While the duration of this exclusivity remains unknown, it represents a major strategic advantage for Microsoft.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that developer Rockstar Games has not yet officially announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. Consequently, players without next-generation consoles will be able to run the game via the cloud service on PCs and other supported devices.
This move will allow Microsoft to attract a significant number of new users to the Xbox Cloud Gaming ecosystem. For gamers globally, this means they will be able to enjoy the latest open-world title without needing expensive hardware, provided they have a stable internet connection.
