Wyze Launches New Smart Scale Featuring a Handle-Mounted Display
The new model offers advanced body analysis and seamless integration without recurring costs.

New Design and Improved Functionality
Smart device manufacturer Wyze has unveiled the Ultra BodyScan Plus, an updated version of its popular smart scale. The most significant design change is the relocation of the 4.3-inch colour display; previously positioned on the scale’s surface, it has now been moved to a pull-out handle. This allows users to view their results at eye level, making the weighing process significantly more convenient.
The device is available now for $149 in both black and white finishes. While this model is $30 more expensive than its predecessor, the upgrades go beyond the new screen placement. Whereas last year’s version measured 13 body parameters, the new "Plus" model analyses over 50 metrics. These include visceral fat levels, protein content, and Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)—the minimum number of calories the body requires to maintain basic life functions.
Data Analysis Without Subscriptions
The scale uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) to provide a detailed breakdown of health metrics across the arms, legs, and torso. Notably, the new Wyze product does not require a monthly or annual subscription fee. This is particularly relevant given current market trends, where competitors often charge for subscriptions to sync data with third-party applications.

The Ultra BodyScan Plus connects to smartphones via Bluetooth or directly to cloud services through Wi-Fi. Results are automatically synced with platforms such as Apple Health, Google Health, and Android Health Connect. The device can store data for up to eight users and includes a guest mode for one-off measurements.
Additional Features for Daily Use
Beyond technical precision, Wyze has considered everyday needs. The scale includes a specific mode for weighing children, pets, or luggage. In this mode, the device skips complex health calculations but provides an accurate weight measurement when holding the subject.
As smart home technology gains popularity, devices like this help users maintain a healthy lifestyle. The ease of data synchronisation and the absence of additional fees make the new Wyze scale an attractive option for those looking to monitor their physical condition in detail.
