WhatsApp Adds Message Scheduling Feature for iPhone
The long-awaited tool is currently in beta testing for iOS users.

Message Scheduling Arrives
WhatsApp users who have spent years waiting for a message scheduling feature will soon have their wish granted. The Meta-owned messenger has officially begun testing the functionality in its iOS beta, allowing users to schedule both text and media messages to be sent at a predetermined time.
Despite having over 3 billion active users worldwide, WhatsApp has historically lagged behind competitors in implementing certain features. Message scheduling was one of the most requested updates. Following its appearance in the Android beta version just a few weeks ago, iPhone owners can now also access the tool.
How the New Feature Works
The interface is designed to be simple and intuitive. To schedule a message, users simply type their text and then long-press the send button. A special menu will appear, allowing the user to select the desired date and time. Once confirmed, the message will be sent automatically at the scheduled moment.
Notably, messages can be scheduled for a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of two weeks in advance. Users can view all scheduled messages within a dedicated section in the chat or group information tab. Regarding group chats, a scheduled message will only reach members who were part of the group at the time the message was scheduled.

Limitations and Future Outlook
The feature supports text, photos, videos, and links. However, there is currently a limitation regarding media files: users cannot schedule multiple photos or videos simultaneously, meaning each must be processed individually.
At present, the update is available only to a limited group of beta testers and cannot be manually activated. It is not yet known when the feature will be rolled out to the general public. However, active testing on both iOS and Android platforms suggests that a wider release is likely on the horizon.
For users who rely on WhatsApp for daily communication, this feature will significantly simplify both professional and personal correspondence, particularly when messages need to be sent after business hours or at a specific, important time.
