vivo V80 Review: Is It Worth the Upgrade?
A first look at the design and performance of vivo's latest V-series handset.

Design and Aesthetics
The vivo V series has always been known for its refined aesthetic, and the new V80 is no exception. Our test unit features a striking colourway—a blend of green and blue that gives it a truly original look. The handset is built with a matte metal frame and semi-transparent glass, providing a premium feel in the hand.
In terms of design, the vivo V80 feels like a hybrid of its predecessor, the V70, and the Apple iPhone Pro series. The massive camera module, equipped with Zeiss optics, is particularly notable, lending the phone a serious, flagship-grade appearance.
Technical Specifications: What Has Changed?
While the V80 is visually appealing, its technical specifications raise some questions. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, the exact same chip found in last year’s V70. Similarly, the camera system remains virtually unchanged.
However, there are some notable improvements. First, the screen refresh rate has been bumped up to 144Hz, compared to the previous 120Hz. The most significant change is the battery; vivo has increased the capacity from 6,500mAh to 7,200mAh. By utilizing new silicon-carbon technology, this upgrade could significantly improve battery life, which we will verify during our detailed testing process.

In the Box
vivo has maintained its tradition of providing a generous retail package for the global market. Inside the box, you will find a transparent protective case, a 90W fast charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable. This is a welcome touch, especially in a market where many manufacturers have stopped including chargers with their smartphones.
Is It Worth Buying?
The vivo V80 is visually impressive and boasts excellent build quality. However, if you already own a V70, there is no massive leap in technical performance here. The manufacturer has placed its primary focus on battery capacity and screen fluidity.
Our next step will be to conduct rigorous battery endurance testing to see how the 7,200mAh capacity performs in real-world conditions. Stay tuned to our site to see if this model lives up to our expectations.
