Ugreen Launches New AI-Focused HomeAgent Series
Ugreen moves beyond NAS with its new AI-powered smart home hub

A New Step in Smart Home Technology
Ugreen, a company widely recognised for its network-attached storage (NAS) devices, has introduced a new direction for the market. The HomeAgent series, which includes the HA100, HA100 Pro, and the high-performance MA100 models, aims to unify the smart home ecosystem by integrating artificial intelligence (AI). Unlike traditional NAS units, these devices are designed to create a local, internet-independent AI space that autonomously manages connected peripheral devices.
Technical Specifications and Capabilities
The entry-level model, the HomeAgent HA100, is equipped with a Rockchip RK3588 processor and a specialised 20 TOPS AI accelerator. The device features three HDD slots—two for NAS functionality and one for surveillance systems—along with an M.2 NVMe slot recommended for running AI models. Notably, the unit includes a built-in 4-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch, which directly supports its primary purpose: managing security cameras.
In terms of design, the device features a compact white chassis topped with a touch-sensitive OLED panel. This screen provides users with real-time system status updates and control options. The system runs on the UGOS Pro operating system and supports Thread, ZigBee, and Bluetooth 6.0 standards, making it a universal hub for connecting smart home devices from various brands.

Pricing and Availability
Ugreen is launching these new products via the Kickstarter platform. Pre-orders begin on 17 November, with retail sales scheduled for February 2027. The company is offering significant discounts for those who place early deposits. For example, the starting price for the HA100 on Kickstarter is $799 USD, nearly half of its estimated retail value. The high-end MA100 model, based on NVIDIA technology, is significantly more expensive but offers unprecedented performance for local AI tasks.
Why This Matters
Current smart home technologies are often fragmented, requiring users to juggle products from various brands like Google or Amazon. Ugreen’s HomeAgent seeks to solve this issue through AI that does not require a constant connection to external servers. This approach not only enhances privacy but also ensures the system remains operational even if the internet connection is lost. Although the HA100 series is still in its early stages, it clearly points to a trend where home servers evolve into intelligent assistants capable of making decisions on behalf of the user.
