SteelSeries Launches New Gaming Mice With Infinite Battery Life
Featuring hot-swappable batteries and 8K polling rates, these new peripherals aim to eliminate the need for wired connections.

SteelSeries has announced a major update to its gaming peripheral lineup. The company has introduced two new models, the Sensei Pro and Rival Pro, offering gamers near-infinite power and top-tier technical specifications. The devices will hit the market on November 15, priced at $179.99.
A Continuous Power Source
The standout innovation in these new models is the hot-swappable battery system, a feature familiar to users of the company’s Arctis Nova Pro headsets. Each package includes two interchangeable batteries: while one is in use, the other charges in a dedicated dock. Each battery provides up to 120 hours of runtime, effectively eliminating the need to stop gaming due to a dead battery.
A New Standard for Connectivity
Moving away from the traditional 2.4GHz frequency, which is often congested by other wireless devices, SteelSeries has implemented Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology. This solution ensures connection stability on 6GHz or higher frequencies, while an 8K polling rate guarantees that mouse movement on screen is instantaneous and free of latency.
Design and Technical Specifications
The Sensei Pro and Rival Pro feature distinct designs: the former is symmetrical and ambidextrous, while the Rival Pro is ergonomic and designed specifically for right-handed users. Both models are also available in 'Mini' versions for users with smaller hands. The devices are equipped with the TrueMove 42K Pro sensor, feature six programmable buttons, and weigh just 49 grams.
The release of these mice marks a significant step for the gaming industry, where the reliability of wireless technology has often been a point of contention. For gamers seeking professional-grade equipment, these models may prove to be the top choice, provided the price point is not a deterrent. This SteelSeries series aims to convince users to abandon wired connections entirely, as these new technologies now fully match the reliability of a cable.
