Samsung to Launch New Premium W27 Foldable Smartphone
The new device mirrors the technical capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra

Premium Design and Familiar Features
Samsung is preparing to update its exclusive W series. On October 29, the company will officially unveil the W27, a new foldable smartphone traditionally designed for the Chinese market. Early photos leaked online have already revealed the device's design, which retains the luxury elements characteristic of the series.
Visually, the W27 features a dark blue finish, contrasted by gold detailing on the frame and camera module. A gold W-series emblem is located on the lower part of the body, highlighting the device's premium status. The triple-camera system and capsule-shaped module mirror the structure of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, confirming reports of their technical similarities.
Technical Specifications and Performance
Samsung’s W series is known as a more refined and expensive version of the Galaxy Z Fold models. With the W27, buyers will receive the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, ensuring peak performance. The device will be equipped with an 8-inch folding screen, while the external panel will feature a 6.5-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Photographic capabilities are on par with the series' flagships: the main sensor is 200 megapixels, promising a high level of detail. A 5,000 mAh battery and 16GB of RAM bring the device in line with modern standards. Notably, the W series is always distinguished by a richer gift set, which makes it particularly popular among Chinese consumers.
Why This Matters
Although the W27 will be sold exclusively in China through the China Telecom network, it provides insight into how Samsung develops its high-end foldable smartphones. Last year's model, the W26, featured satellite connectivity support, which was considered an innovative solution at the time. The price of the W27 is currently unknown, but based on previous years, it is expected to range between $2,400 and $2,700.
For international users, this model will likely only be available through informal channels or imports. However, the technical data of the W27 directly indicates the direction in which the Galaxy Z Fold line is evolving for the global market. We will be following the October 29 presentation to see if Samsung adds any special features that might eventually be seen worldwide.
