Revolut Confirms Data Breach Triggered by Fake Government Requests

Financial platform Revolut has officially confirmed a customer data leak. As TechCrunch reports, the security incident was carried out using fake government requests.

The company stated that it has already dispatched notifications to users whose data was put at risk. Furthermore, Revolut immediately informed the relevant government agency, law enforcement bodies, and financial regulators about the incident.

Similar types of attacks, where perpetrators issue requests in the name of official agencies, remain a serious challenge for the global fintech sector. Revolut says it is working closely with regulatory and investigative authorities regarding the matter.
