Remote Reaper: Ukrainian FPV Drone Simulator Launches on Steam

A Realistic Combat Experience
Remote Reaper: FPV Combat Drone Simulator has officially launched on the Steam platform. Previously available in Early Access, the project was developed through a collaboration between Ukrainian developer Vladyslav Fomenko and active-duty military pilots. The simulator’s primary objective is to provide an accurate reproduction of how remotely piloted aircraft are utilised on the modern battlefield.
Version 1.0 offers users not only expanded missions but also unprecedented drone configuration capabilities. Players can build their own aircraft using 7-inch or 10-inch frames, selecting individual motors, propellers, cameras, and antennas. Each component affects the drone's weight, thrust, and flight duration, forcing players to balance their build based on the requirements of specific missions.
Electronic Warfare and Tactics
A standout feature of the simulator is its electronic warfare (EW) mechanics. In real combat, drone operation is frequently hampered by signal jamming, a challenge replicated in the game. Video transmission and control signals may be interrupted at critical moments, requiring players to demonstrate resilience and situational awareness.
Furthermore, the game implements a realistic damage system for armoured vehicles. Tanks and other targets have vulnerable points where a precise strike provides a decisive advantage. Players can choose from various types of ammunition, including shaped charges and high-explosive fragmentation rounds, necessitating a strategic approach to every engagement.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
The simulator supports professional FPV hardware, including controllers from RadioMaster, DJI FPV, TBS, and BetaFPV. For those preferring simpler controls, the game also supports standard console gamepads, as well as keyboard and mouse inputs. In simplified mode, the drone automatically maintains altitude, making it easier for beginners to get started.
The project has relatively high technical requirements. For stable performance, it requires Windows 11, at least 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 2060-level graphics card. The recommended configuration includes 32GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 to ensure detailed visualisation of physics and the environment.
Remote Reaper also includes a mission editor, where players can plan their own combat scenarios, place targets, and configure enemy defence systems. Additionally, an online cooperative mode allows multiple pilots to execute missions together, adding further depth to the simulator.
