Huawei Pura 90 Plus: New Smartphone Specifications Revealed
The new flagship features an overclocked Kirin processor and a sophisticated design.

Next-Generation Kirin Chipset and Design
Huawei has officially announced its latest flagship, the Pura 90 Plus. Pre-orders are already open in China, with the official presentation scheduled for 28 October. While the company has yet to release full technical specifications, the smartphone is already available for display in retail stores, leading to the emergence of the first photos and detailed specifications online.
The device's "About phone" menu reveals that the Huawei Pura 90 Plus is powered by the new Kirin 9025 chipset. This marks the first time this processor has been used in a mobile phone. Insiders suggest that the Kirin 9025 is an improved, overclocked version of the Kirin 9020. Early estimates indicate that the new model offers 19% better performance compared to the Pura 80 Pro, bringing its capabilities close to the Kirin 9030S, which is used in the company’s higher-end models.
Technical Specifications and Display
The Pura 90 Plus features a 6.8-inch curved LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2848x1276 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The photos highlight the phone’s sophisticated design, curved edges, and a triangular camera module, which looks particularly striking in the Sunset Purple colourway.
Regarding memory, users will have access to 12GB of RAM and three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. Information regarding the camera system indicates that the main sensor will be a 50-megapixel, 1-inch type RYYB matrix, featuring a variable aperture. These specifications largely mirror the successful Pura 80 Pro series, albeit with an upgraded chipset.
What This Means for Huawei
Huawei continues to develop its hardware ecosystem around the HarmonyOS 7 operating system. Despite global market challenges, the company is successfully optimising its own chipsets and releasing flagship-level devices. The debut of the Pura 90 Plus is another step in demonstrating that Huawei has no intention of conceding its position in the premium segment.
For users who actively use Huawei technology, this news is significant as the company maintains its high standards in camera performance. However, the international release date and pricing for the device remain unknown, with further details expected at the 28 October presentation.
