GameStop Marks Up PlayStation 5 Pro Price by $500
Retailer capitalises on console shortages by charging well above MSRP

Retail chain GameStop has decided to capitalise on market shortages of the PlayStation 5 Pro by selling the console at $500 above the manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).
Shortages and increased prices
Stock deficits surrounding the new console have triggered colossal price increases across the resale market. Scalpers are actively exploiting the situation, offloading units at vastly inflated rates to shoppers unwilling to wait.
Major retailers now appear to be following suit. GameStop's move directly targets demand from consumers who are prepared to pay considerably more to secure a scarce PS5 Pro immediately.
While such pricing practices routinely spark frustration among gamers, intense market demand and limited supply continue to compel some buyers to accept the inflated tags.
