EcoFlow Refreshes Compact River Power Station Lineup

Portable power manufacturer EcoFlow has officially unveiled its fourth-generation River series devices. The refreshed lineup offers even more compact dimensions alongside improved energy efficiency.

As reported by The Verge, the range consists of two new models: the River 260 Gen4 and the River 520 Gen4. Both units are equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Compared with conventional lithium-ion cells, this chemistry is significantly safer and provides a noticeably longer operational lifespan.

Specifications and capabilities

The smaller River 260 Gen4 features a 256-watt-hour (Wh) battery. This capacity is roughly 2.5 times larger than the biggest portable power banks permitted on commercial flights. The unit provides four USB ports and a single AC socket delivering up to 300W of continuous power—ample for running equipment such as a Starlink Mini, portable fridge, or laptop.

The more capable River 520 Gen4 doubles capacity to 512Wh, offering five times the allowance of flight-approved power banks. Alongside its USB array, this model adds a second AC output socket, allowing it to support more demanding electronics simultaneously.
