Canva Unveils New AI Model: Canva Craft
The new image generator prioritizes design planning and precision

An Innovative Approach to Visual Content
Canva has taken a significant step in the field of artificial intelligence by introducing its new image generation model, Canva Craft. The company is positioning itself to compete directly with tech giants such as OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google. The primary advantage of Craft lies in its unique two-stage architecture, which emphasizes detailed planning before the design is visualized. This approach offers users significantly greater precision, control, and visual consistency.
Technical Capabilities and Functionality
The new model supports 2K resolution and over 30 different aspect ratios. Canva Craft can be used for creating marketing materials and social media posts, as well as for generating realistic scenes, digital art, and environmental designs. The system's two-stage architecture is particularly effective for generating complex images that require clear text rendering and precise object placement.
According to the company, the model was trained on millions of templates created by users within the platform's library. This database includes presentations, menus, infographics, and other design elements. As a result, Canva Craft currently holds fourth place in the Design Arena rankings, trailing only OpenAI's GPT-Image series models.

Security and Future Plans
Canva has placed special emphasis on security measures. The model is equipped with robust data protection systems, privacy controls, and appropriate reporting tools. In the future, the company plans to integrate AI agents via the Model Context Protocol, as well as release faster versions of the model, titled Craft-fast and Craft-ultrafast.
How to Access the New Feature
Canva Craft is now available to global users, including those in Georgia. To activate the feature, users should select the three-dot menu on the left side of the Canva interface and navigate to Dream Lab. This update simplifies the design process and provides users with access to world-class AI tools, which is particularly significant for local small businesses and the creative industry.
