Apple Store Goes Offline Ahead of iPhone Duo Pre-Orders

A new era for Apple
Apple's official online store is currently unavailable. The company posted a notice on its website asking customers for patience while it prepares the platform for iPhone Duo pre-orders. This temporary shutdown is standard procedure for the Cupertino company, which routinely updates its systems ahead of major product launches to handle the surge in traffic.
Pre-orders will officially open on Friday, 16 October, at 05:00 Pacific Time. For several years, Apple has opted for morning starts rather than midnight launches, a schedule that has proved far more convenient for customers.
What to know about the iPhone Duo
The iPhone Duo is Apple's first foldable smartphone and has generated immense anticipation in the market. The handset will come in two colours: Star White and Night Sky. Buyers can choose between four storage capacities: 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Starting prices in the United States begin at $1,999.
Pre-orders are kicking off simultaneously in more than 70 countries, including Germany, the UK, Japan, and India. This global rollout reflects Apple's strategy to rapidly deliver its newest technology to its audience.
When will deliveries begin?
Customers who manage to place their orders early will receive their devices on 23 October, when official in-store sales and first-wave deliveries commence. A week later, on 30 October, the iPhone Duo will expand to 28 additional regions.
For consumers in Georgia, although the country is not among the first-wave launch markets, this event is still significant as it dictates the broader trajectory of the foldable market. The arrival of the iPhone Duo marks Apple's official entry into the foldable category, establishing a new benchmark for smartphone design and functionality.
