There is great news for Bluesound owners: the company's high-end audio systems have received direct Apple Music integration. This means users no longer need to rely on AirPlay 2 for streaming, which was previously the only available method. The update is now live and covers all compatible devices running on the BluOS platform.
How the Integration Works
Apple Music is now fully integrated into the BluOS Controller app. Once a user authenticates with their Apple ID, the audio stream is delivered directly to the Bluesound device. This significantly enhances the user experience, as the smartphone or tablet is no longer involved in the transmission process, which saves battery life and ensures a more stable connection.
Furthermore, this integration allows for music management throughout the entire home. If you have multiple BluOS-based devices, you can stream music to several rooms simultaneously or select different tracks for each device. The system is fully compatible with multi-room audio standards.
Expanding to Other Brands
It is worth noting that the update is not limited to Bluesound-branded products. It is available for all devices that utilise the BluOS platform, including well-known brands such as NAD Electronics, PSB Speakers, DALI Loudspeakers, Cyrus, and Monitor Audio. Although Bluesound has not specified the audio quality supported by the new feature, this update remains a significant development for users. The free software update became available on 20 October.
