Apple Maintains Global Leadership With Projected 2026 Sales Growth
Despite a 14% market decline, the tech giant prepares for growth.

Apple’s Growing Influence in the Global Market
2026 is shaping up to be one of the most challenging periods for the smartphone industry. According to the latest forecasts from GF Securities analysts Jeff Pu and Henry Huang, the global market is expected to contract by 14.2%, totaling 1.08 billion units. Against this backdrop, Apple remains the only company capable of strengthening its position and achieving sales growth.
Analysts estimate that Apple could sell 257 million smartphones in 2026, marking a 4% increase compared to the previous year. This performance would allow the company to increase its global market share to 24%, up from 19% in 2024. Consequently, Apple continues to outperform its primary competitor, Samsung, whose sales are projected to remain around 241 million units.
Production and Demand Challenges
Despite its financial success, Apple faces certain difficulties. Analysts note that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models received relatively lukewarm reviews from users and critics alike. The device's weight and competition from the iPhone Duo are frequently cited as the primary reasons for this reception.
Furthermore, production bottlenecks have impacted the company’s plans. Due to technical issues related to hinge design, the production target for the iPhone Duo was reduced from 7 million to 6 million units. The iPhone 18 Pro series faced a similar fate; complications regarding the adjustable aperture camera led to a reduction in its production plan to 72 million units.
Why is the Market So Unstable?
The primary cause of the industry crisis is the rising cost of memory components. This factor forces manufacturers to either reduce production volumes or increase device prices, both of which directly affect the end consumer. Market analysts consider 2026 and 2027 to be among the most difficult years for the sector.
Nevertheless, investor confidence in Apple remains high. The company's stock price maintains stability on the exchange, distinguishing it from other players in the technology sector. For users who are active within the Apple ecosystem, these developments are significant, as supply shortages and production delays often directly impact the availability of new models in local markets.
